About Weston, Maine
Originally granted to Hampden Academy in 1803 and officially incorporated in 1835, the town of Weston sits at the southeastern tip of Aroostook County right along the Canadian border. Covering 30.6 square miles of land and home to a quiet population of about 245 year-round residents, the municipality is defined by its extensive waterfront, with nearly a quarter of its borders made up of pristine lakes. Forestry and agriculture drove the local economy up until the late 1900s, but today Weston functions primarily as a peaceful residential area and a popular seasonal destination.
The town boasts miles of pristine shoreline along East Grand Lake—one of Maine's largest lakes—alongside Faulkner, Brackett, and Deering Lakes. Rows of seasonal cottages and year-round homes line these beautiful waters. Positioned along U.S. Route 1, Weston offers a relaxed lifestyle where locals and visitors enjoy year-round outdoor recreation like world-class fishing, boating, hunting, and vibrant fall leaf peeping.
